They felt icky & awkward…
Oh hey, Biz Fam!
We feel like we need to take a hot minute to talk about a VERY sensitive topic amount the entrepreneurial community - Selling products and services.
Let’s take a moment to think about why you might feel awkward “selling” your product or services on your social media.
Is it you feel “icky” about money?
Maybe you don’t fully realize the value that you are offering your potential clients.
Perhaps you don’t know how to reach your clients and thus feel like you're just wasting your time.
Or maybe you just feel awkward because of a bad experience you yourself had with a company.
Regardless we want to remind all of you that the point of owning and running a business is to provide and sell a product or service. We work with companies who hire us to market them and STILL feel awkward when we bring up selling components in their copy or content.
If you relate to this we have a few thoughts that can help bring you back and get excited about selling your products and services.
People are LOOKING for you products and services. You might think “ I’m a small company - who would be looking for me?” - Think again! Most if not ALL your customers have a pain point that you can solve and they don’t know where to find you ( they wouldn’t have this pain point if they did). Stop shying away from putting it out there you are actually doing your clients a favour by letting them know that this service is out there.
There is an exchange of services that benefit you as the business and them as the consumer. You are not simply “taking” their money, they are looking to purchase this service and are happy to pay for it. They WANT to invest in you and ultimately achieve the desired outcome.
There is only one YOU. Every industry has a wide variety of companies with its individual cultures - no one business owner is the same as the other. This allows consumers to connect with a company that they relate to. This diversity ensures that every consumer is getting the most out of their experience with the company. Don’t shy away from showing your personality or your office culture because while you might be sharing a similar product/service as a local competitor the experience you offer can be COMPLETELY different.
Taking about your products and services does not equate to being salesy.
